Hamad International Airport was recently voted the World’s Best Airport for the third consecutive year, outperforming more than 500 global contenders. Aviation enthusiasts even plan layovers here just for the experience. To celebrate this, British Airways High Life magazine highlights how to spend 24 hours in Doha’s International Airport.

This collection of illustrations highlights the serene tropical garden beneath a curved glass roof, the relaxing wellness facilities including a luxury Dior beauty spa, makeup, grooming, and massage services. It also features indoor golf at the vitality well-being and fitness centre, as well as luxury dining experiences, such as a Ralph Lauren coffee shop, Harrods Tea Room, and local fast-food favourites.

Sketch and Colour

The design process begins with hand-drawn sketches and concepts, which evolve into vector-coloured illustrations. Additional details are incorporated to bring life and intrigue to the designs. Colour is gradually layered, followed by shading and intricate detailing, to create a sense of depth, light, and vibrancy, making the designs stand out.

The aim was to create a collection that feels bright, colourful, and warm, capturing the luxurious and enticing facilities of the Airport. The colour palette is inspired by natural, earthy tones including terracotta, earth greens, sky blues, sand beige and pops of red and yellow.
